NEUROWORKS COACHING

Cory Larsen, PE, ME

"Hi, I'm Cory,
I'm a Husband, Dad, Engineer and both a Certified Neurodiversity & Certified Relationship Coach.

I help neurodivergent men navigate family, relationships, and work with simple practical steps."

ABOUT CORY LARSEN, PE, ME:Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Neuroworks Coaching! For many years, I have worked as an engineer, building a career centered on problem-solving, practical thinking, and helping protect the health and safety of our communities. Over time, after personal growth and specialized training, I expanded that work to include coaching men like me who are struggling with relationships, communication, routines, emotions, and career challenges.Originally from Minnesota, I earned my B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University, later obtained my Professional Engineer license, and completed my master’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at NC State University. I have also completed my certification in Neurodiversity Coaching from Efficient Coach© and certification in Relationship Coaching from the International Association of Professions Career College. I am also a member IAPO International Association of Professional Relationship Coaches.I began coaching alongside my engineering practice after recognizing that many men are highly capable in school, work, and finances, yet still struggle in the social-emotional areas of life that matter most — marriage, parenting, friendship, communication, work-life balance, and coping with stress. As someone with lived neurodivergent experience, I understand how difficult it can be to manage rigidity, perfectionism, frustration, organization, and relationships while trying to show up well for the people you love.My goal is to help men better understand themselves, improve communication, reduce conflict and overwhelm, while practical tools that work in real life. When I’m not coaching or working as an engineer, I love spending time with my wife, our two neurodiverse sons, and our dogs. I also enjoy fitness routines, golfing, kayaking, fishing, boating, woodworking, repairing motors, tackling hands-on projects and cold-plunging (yep, it's pretty chilly).

WHAT IS NEURODIVERSITY?Neurodiversity describes the cognitive differences in how people think, learn, and behave. Neurodivergent individuals are often able to recognize patterns that others do not see, have creative novel ideas, hyperfocus/passionate interests, sense things differently, have various communication styles, and have unique social limits/needs. They may also value alone/quiet time, specific environmental features, or experience emotions/emotional regulation differently. Though often difficult to fully establish without great effort, they tend to thrive in structure, routine, predictability and organized spaces. If you have often felt different, misunderstood, overwhelmed, rigid, perfectionistic, emotionally or cognitively stuck, coaching may be a good place to begin. This work may be especially helpful for men who identify with traits related to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, giftedness, rigid or obsessive thinking patterns, sensory sensitivities, learning differences, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, or other forms of neurodivergence. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Some men come with a diagnosis, while others simply know that their current ways of communicating, coping, organizing, or relating have not worked well for them or their loved ones.I do not provide diagnosis or mental health treatment. Coaching is focused on practical support, greater self-understanding, and tools for improving relationships, communication, and everyday life. When appropriate, I may also encourage referral to a licensed mental health professional for further evaluation or support.

HOW COACHING HELPS:Many men know something is not working, but feel stuck repeating the same patterns at home, in relationships, and at work. Coaching helps turn insight into action.Together, we identify what is working, what is not, and where change is possible. We look at the patterns underneath the frustration, rigidity, conflict, overwhelm, and disconnection, then implement practical tools to help you respond differently.Coaching may help you:- communicate more clearly with your spouse, children, coworkers, and others
- reduce rigidity, defensiveness, and conflict in everyday life
- better manage frustration, stress, and emotional overwhelm
- improve routines, organization, time management, and follow-through
- handle change, unmet expectations, and transitions with more flexibility
- better understand your neurodiverse traits, patterns, and triggers
- strengthen relationships while still honoring your need for space and recovery
- develop practical coping tools that work in real life, not just in theory
This coaching is practical, collaborative, and personalized. The goal is not to change who you are. The goal is to help you better understand yourself, reduce unnecessary struggle, and build a more steady, connected, and workable life.Coaching is not therapy or mental health counseling. I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If it seems helpful, I may also encourage referral to a licensed mental health professional for additional support.
